 Maureen S. Filipek, M.D. joined EPIC Imaging | West as a diagnostic radiologist in January 2006. After completing her Bachelor's degree with honors in Chemistry from Southern Oregon State College, Dr. Filipek worked as a chemist for a short time before entering medical school. She earned her medical degree from Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2000. While at OHSU, Dr. Filipek was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors society.
Following medical school, Dr. Filipek completed her internship in surgery and medicine at Legacy Health Systems in Portland. She completed her radiology residency training at OHSU where she served as chief resident 2005, and received the 2005 RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award. She became board certified by the American Board of Radiology June 2005.
Dr. Filipek published a variety of articles, primarily in thoracic imaging, during residency, as well as authoring several book chapters in obstetric imaging. She has genuine interest in all imaging specialties, but derives the most personal satisfaction from her Women's imaging patients. She is committed to excellence in patient care and service to the referring physician community.
Dr. Filipek brings a high degree of expertise in interventional imaging procedures of the breast, female reproductive system, joints, and veins to EPIC. She is a member of American Association for Women Radiologists, Oregon Medical Association, Radiologic Society of North America, and American College of Radiology.
Dr. Filipek has lived in Oregon over 35 years. She most enjoys time with her husband, daughters, and extended families in both Eastern and Southern Oregon. She is an outdoor enthusiast, and avid reader.
