 Daniel R. Kocarnik, MD has been a diagnostic radiologist with EPIC Imaging since 1991 and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the EPIC Imaging family of centers. He received his undergraduate Biology degree in the Honors program at Gonzaga University and was awarded membership in the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society. Dr. Kocarnik attended the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine, receiving his medical degree in 1986, with extensive additional training in anatomic pathology.
Following an internship in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Kocarnik completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. During this time he also completed special training in radio-pathologic correlation at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and holds medical licensure in Oregon since 1987 and Washington since 1990. He is fully certified by the American Board of Radiology since 1991.
Dr. Kocarnik's professional affiliations include the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Radiologic Society of North America, the Oregon Radiologic Society and the Pacific Northwest Radiological Society. He also holds membership in the American Medical Association, the Oregon Medical Association and the Metropolitan Medical Society of Portland. He is an elected member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
During his 10 years at EPIC Imaging, Dr. Kocarnik has contributed enormously to maintaining the facility's commitment to outstanding patient care and technical excellence. He oversees quality control for mammographic imaging at EPIC Imaging's East Portland location and heads stabilization and resuscitation services.
Dr. Kocarnik is a third generation Oregonian and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and four children, especially backpacking and sailing. He has strong interests in photography, literature and exercise. He volunteers as a local Scoutmaster, attends school activities and is an active community supporter of Jesuit High School.
