Gerald L. Warnock, MD founded EPIC Imaging (formerly East Portland Imaging Center) in 1964. Over the years he has been a pioneer in bringing state-of-the-art imaging technology to our community and a leader in quality patient care. In 2009, Dr. Warnock transferred ownership of EPIC Imaging to the senior radiologists who had worked so closely with him to make the center Oregon's gold standard for patient care and service. Dr. Warnock, continues to serve as Radiologist Emeritus at our main campus.

Dr. Warnock received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Reed College and went on to earn his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University (then called the University of Oregon). He completed a rotating internship at Tripler US Army Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii and two additional years of service as a US Army medical officer. He returned to Portland and completed his residency in radiology, earning board certification in 1964.

Dr. Warnock has extensive experience in a wide variety of imaging technologies with a particular interest in breast imaging, MRI scanning and PET imaging. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at Oregon Health Sciences University and a frequent lecturer to the medical community on dedicated PET scanning and other imaging modalities.

Dr. Warnock is a past president of the Oregon Radiological Society and of the Pacific Northwest Radiological Society. He was honored with convocation as a Fellow of the American College of Radiology in 1982.

Professional affiliations include membership in the American College of Radiology, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American Roentgen Ray Society. Pacific Northwest Radiological Society, the Oregon Radiological Society, the Multnomah County Medical Society, the Oregon State Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.

A native Oregonian, Dr. Warnock has dedicated his life to serving our community. Under his leadership, EPIC Imaging has set the local standard for combining leading edge imaging technology with expert medical interpretation and compassionate patient care. He is a husband, father and proud grandfather who enjoys outdoor activities, especially fishing and hunting.
